Legal
We keep the data we collect deliberately narrow. There are two sources:
When you get in touch through the site — for example, a graduate scheme enquiry or a jobs application — we collect what you provide: your name, email address, and the content of your message. We use this only to respond to you and to process the enquiry or application.
Like most websites, quant.st automatically logs some technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser type and version, device and operating system, referring page, and the pages you view. This doesn't identify you by name, and we use it to keep the site secure, fix problems, and understand how the site is used.
We do not knowingly collect any sensitive personal information (such as health, biometric, or financial account data) through the site.
We use the information described above to:
We don't use your information for anything beyond these purposes without telling you first.
If you're located in the UK or EEA, UK GDPR and the EU GDPR require us to identify the legal basis for processing your personal data. We rely on:
Quant Street is based in the UK. Some of our service providers (for example, analytics or advertising platforms) may process data outside the UK/EEA, including in the United States. Where this happens, we rely on approved safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent adequacy mechanism to protect your information.
We keep enquiry and application data for as long as needed to respond to you and consider your application, and then for a limited period afterwards in case of follow-up. Server logs are typically retained for a short period (up to around 30 days) for security purposes. We delete or anonymise data once it's no longer needed, unless we're required to keep it longer by law.
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so while we work hard to protect your data, we can't guarantee absolute security.
Quant Street's site and recruitment programmes are intended for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at team@quant.st and we'll delete it.
Your rights depend on where you live.
Under UK GDPR and EU GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data; to restrict or object to certain processing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority — in the UK, this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
| Right | What it means |
|---|---|
| Know | Ask what categories of personal information we've collected, used, and shared about you. |
| Delete | Ask us to delete personal information we hold about you, subject to certain legal exceptions. |
| Correct | Ask us to correct inaccurate personal information. |
| Opt out | Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information; we do use advertising cookies, which you can opt out of. |
| Non-discrimination | We won't treat you differently for exercising any of these rights. |
If you're a Virginia resident, you have the right to know whether we're processing your data, to access and correct it, to request deletion, to obtain a copy of it, and to opt out of targeted advertising or profiling. If we decline a request, you can appeal by emailing team@quant.st; if you're not satisfied with the outcome, you can contact the Virginia Attorney General.
To exercise any of the rights above, email team@quant.st. We may need to verify your identity before actioning a request, and we'll respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (for example, one month under UK/EU GDPR, or 45 days under Virginia's CDPA).
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal. There's currently no common industry standard for how sites should respond to it, so quant.st does not currently respond to DNT signals.
We may update this policy from time to time — for example, if we start collecting new types of data or change how we use cookies. We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and if a change is significant, we'll make it clearly visible on the site.
